It is unfortunate that ‘consumers’ are not consulted about building plans that directly affect them until the plans are completed for submission to the planning authorities. In this case, the residents of Abu Tor heard rumors that the Greek church had ‘sold’ the Greek compound to developers. (The church has, in fact, ‘leased’ the land for 110 years, to be precise).
The residents quickly grouped together and have held many meetings within the neighborhood and with relevant bodies outside.
The residents are in the process of consulting and drawing up an alternative plan for the site. As soon as this will be ready, it will be uploaded to this site.
